YHA Cancellation Policy

YHA, known as Youth Hostels Association, is a charitable organization that prides itself on being a customer-friendly hostel accommodation. 

However, due to some urgent work or emergency, you could have to cancel your booking with YHA. We are often unsure if we will receive a refund.

Like any other hostel service, YHA also charges some cancellation fees when you cancel your booking. The fees are calculated based on how many days are left between booking cancellation and booking date.

What is the YHA Cancellation Policy?

It is quite possible to cancel your reservation at YHA hostels. However, you are expected to pay a cancellation fee. 

YHA cancellation policy is dependent upon many factors. The YHA cancellation policy for a group booking is different from a single hostel booking. 

YHA calculates the cancellation fee based on the number of days left between cancellation and scheduled stay at YHA hostels. The smaller the difference, the higher the penalty.

You cannot cancel a part of your booking at YHA. You need to cancel your entire booking and re-book the whole trip according to your need.

Cancellation Eligibility

YHA cancellation policy is based on how early you cancel your hostel booking. The booking cancellation process is different for single booking and group booking. 

The below table will show how much cancellation fees you need to pay if you want to cancel your activity package.

56 days or more than that	Any deposits already paid or due related to activities.
55-28 days left	50% of the total activities cost
27-0 days left	100% of the total activities cost

Activities include meals, an overnight stay, and other elements, which have been booked already (but wish to continue with the accommodation element of their booking). 

In case of Normal Booking or Group Booking Cancellation, the following charges will apply,

55-28 days left	50% of the total booking cost
27-0 days left	100% of the total booking cost

No cancellation fees will be charged if YHA cancels your hotel booking without informing you at the right time. 

What Is The YHA Refund Policy?

YHA refund rules are provided below. You can check how much refund you are eligible for if you cancel your booking.

We need to see the refund you will receive when you want to cancel a single youth hostel booking.

If you made a booking through any promotional voucher, there would be no refund.

How to cancel YHA booking?

To cancel your YHA booking, you need to follow the below-mentioned steps,

1. Go to the YHA website and select your cancellation option.
2. Enter your Hostel booking reference number and email id.
3. Click on confirm to find your booking.
4. Select your booking and press the cancel button.
5. Confirm your booking cancellation.
